Although marine debris is a global problem, scuba divers around the world organising reef clean-up campaigns are equally strong. Through these dive activities, we are playing a major role in keeping our oceans clean and healthy.

Every year tens of thousands of marine animals and seabirds die from eating or getting tangled up in marine debris – or trash in the ocean. Marine debris damages marine environments causing further impact on the animals that live there. Although marine debris problem is big, but Project AWARE’s movement of divers is strong. Through reef clean-ups, divers are playing a major role in keeping our ocean clean and healthy.
