PADI OPEN WATER COURSE (BASIC)

Objective & Aim of our Course:

We aim to provide a conducive and safe environment for training new divers. The objective is to have new divers obtain their license to dive safely, comfortably and confidently.

Advantages of our Course:

✓ Eliminates night travelling to and from pool trainings and exhausting short weekend trips

Day 1

0630 – Depart Singapore for ferry terminal

1130 – Depart by fast ferry to Pulau Tioman

1300 – Arrive Paya Beach Resort

1400 – Confine Water Training

1900 – Dinner (own expense)

Day 2

0700 – Breakfast

0900 – Open Sea Training Dive 1

1300 – Lunch (own expense)

1400 – Open Sea Training Dives 2 & 3

1900 – Dinner (own expense)

Day 3

0700 – Breakfast

0800 – Open Sea Training Dive 4

1100 – Certification & Log Dives

1200 – Lunch (own expense)

1400 – Depart Pulau Tioman by fast ferry

1600 – Depart by coach for Singapore

✓ Knowledge Development (Theory Lesson – in Singapore)

✓ Confined Water Training (Pool Sessions – at Paya Beach Resort)

✓ Open Sea Training Dives (4 Dives – in Pulau Tioman)

✓ Basic swimming skills and comfortable in water

✓ Float / Tread water for 10 minutes

✓ Swim 200m or Snorkel swim 300m

✓ Overall good health, particularly respiratory and circulatory systems

✓ Mature mental attitude and self-discipline.

✓ Minimum age:

PADI Open Water Course: 15 years (max depth 18m)

PADI Junior Open Water Course: 10 years (max depth 12m)

Independent Learning Guide:

Collect PADI Open Water Manual and Student Record Form

STEP 1: Fill in Student Record Form

STEP 2: Watch Videos

STEP 3: Complete Quizzes for Modules 1 to 4 and Final Exam for Module 5

STEP 4: Read PADI Manual and revise through Knowledge Review questions in manual

STEP 5: Repeat the sequence for all 5 modules.

Kindly note:

✓ Modules 4 & 5 – you may leave out the Recreational Dive Planner segment if uncertain as it will be taught in class.

✓ All videos and questions will be found in the link which we will email to you.

During Theory Class:

✓ Quiz answers for 1A,2A, 3A, 4A and Final Exam will be collected and graded.

✓ The instructor will revise on the use of the Recreational Dive Planner (Modules 4 & 5)

✓ All quizzes will require 7 correct answers each to pass.

✓ Final Exam Paper will require 35 correct answers to pass.
